APP Creators

App Creators is a course that introduces students to coding and mobile app development. Students will create a variety of different applications, including games. MIT App Inventor provides the platform for the block coding students will utilize. Students will solve real world problems by creating meaningful mobile apps. At the end of the course, students will develop their own mobile application using their practiced coding skills.

Automation and Robotics

Students learn about the history and impact of automation and robotics as they explore mechanical systems, energy transfer, machine automation, and computer control systems. Using the VEX Robotics® platform, students apply what they know to design and program traffic lights, robotic arms, and more.

Computer Programing for Innovators and Makers

This class is an introduction to coding and programing gadgets that interact with the world. Throughout the unit, students will learn about programming for the physical world by blending hardware design and software development, allowing students to discover computer science concepts and skills by creating personally relevant, tangible, and shareable projects. In this class we will see if we can design and code our way out of the world's problems!

Flight and Space

The exciting world of aerospace comes alive through Flight and Space. Students explore the science behind aeronautics and use their knowledge to design, build, and test a model glider. Custom-built simulation software allows students to experience space travel.

Design and Modeling

Students discover the design process and develop an understanding of the influence of creativity and innovation in their lives. They are then challenged and empowered to use and apply what they’ve learned throughout the unit to design a therapeutic toy for a child who has cerebral palsy.

Medical Detectives

Students play the role of real-life medical detectives as they collect and analyze medical data to diagnose diseases in patients. They solve medical mysteries through hands-on projects and labs, measure and interpret vital signs, examine nervous system structure and function, and learn about crime scene science by doing such activities as DNA extraction, DNA testing, and more!
