STAFF SPOTLIGHT: PAM NELSON
Pam Nelson - District Buyer

Westy High School alum and employee Pam Nelson is this issue’s staff spotlight. Pam has been a staple in WPS for 25 years in the Logistics Department. Before joining WPS, she worked for 15 years in purchasing at another employer. According to Pam, she enjoys her job and the people at WPS, which makes it a great place for her to work. She remembers fondly the great teachers that shaped her life, including Miss Hissamoto, her gym teacher. “She made me feel important and heard as a student.”

Executive Director Eric Hodges writes, “Pam is an incredible asset to WPS. She is the glue that makes things happen.”

Jennette Kuxhausen states, “I have always appreciated Pam. She has always been there whenever I needed her.

Years in WPS: 25 years

Favorite Food: Crab legs

Favorite quote or mantra: The Golden Rule is important. Treat everyone how you want to be treated.

Favorite Athlete/Sports Team: I’m not interested in ports. I used to follow the Rockies, but not lately. What are your hobbies: Crafts! Quilting, especially.

What I am listening to right now: I listen to audiobooks. Right now I am listening to Kristin Hannah’s The Women. It’s very well written about the Vietnam era and the nurses that served. Very intense.

If I could make the world a better place in one way: We would be nice to each other and create smiles on each other.

What has Westminster Public Schools meant to you? It’s a great place to work. Lots of fun people to work with, lots of laughs, and lots of support.

Who inspires me in WPS (staff, parent, or student): People with good positive attitudes inspire me, especially when the little things don’t get them down.
