Offering valuable information about school improvement plans along with costumes, candy and music the 2024 District Showcase Highlighted the best of Westminster Public Schools.

 

The showcase, now a signature event for WPS, provided a platform for students from across the district to display their work and demonstrate their skills. Among the students, Sherrelwood Elementary’s Auggie Ortiz who excited shared his display board detailing his plans to become a mathematician and someday work for NASA. He takes his education very seriously and says he knows he will have to study tough subjects like calculus and algebra to achieve his dreams.

Next to him, Dylan Ortega, wearing a white lab coat, spoke of his plans to become a scientist. He says his recent visits to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science convinced him that a career in science is for him.

 

“This showcase is a testament to the incredible work happening in our schools every day,” said Superintendent Jeni Gotto. “We are proud of our students for their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and their drive to take ownership of their learning. It’s also a chance for our young learners to visit Westminster High School and see all the opportunities available to them.”

 

This year’s showcase included a musical twist with the presentation of the Massive Monster and Mariachi Music Masquerade in the WHS theatre. The mariachi band was joined by musicians and singers from across the district for a spectacular half hour performance.
