About Shaw Heights Middle School

Welcome to Shaw Heights Middle School, where “We empower and inspire life-long learners.”

As a school, pride ourselves in our use of our cutting-edge technology. Every student, in every classroom, has access to a computer along with interactive TVs at every teacher’s and student's disposal. We use interactive apps daily for authentic engagement and instruction. Our students say they love learning with these tools.

We are home to one of the finest elective departments in the area. Our Performing Arts program has over 200 students taking part in musical theater, choir, band and orchestra. Our STEM program boasts 4 unique courses and some of the most popular pathways. Our Physical Education department is very successful, as proven by the over 450 student participants every year! The PE program has a focus on personal health and fitness. Our instructor is cross-fit kids certified; making sure the workouts push students to their next fitness level while ensuring they are safe in doing so.
