Personal Possessions Policy
I understand the use of Portable Communications Devices (PCD) including cell phones are not allowed at any time during the school day. If I use my PCD (cell phone) during the school day it will be confiscated and I will be subject to disciplinary action up to and possibly including expulsion. The administration will be held responsible for PCD at any time while on school grounds. I understand that if I bring a PCD to school, I do so at my own risk. I also understand stereos, CD players, video games, skateboards, large amounts of money, squirt guns, scooters, rollerblades, novelty items and any other personal items of this nature tend to distract from classroom instructions and tend to get broken, lost or borrowed at school. I will cooperate and make sure all valuable items remain at home. Also, any item that is considered disruptive to the educational process can be taken by any staff member, I will need to contact an administrator to determine the process for having this item returned. I further understand anything stolen from me that should have not been brought to school is my responsibility. I will make sure that my cell phone is secured in my locker during the school day or turned into the main office to be secured and picked up at the end of the day.
Shaw Heights Middle School is not responsible for the loss or theft of any of my personal possessions.
